Local Transport Plan objectives
While it is only five years since the first Local Transport Plan was submitted, the previous two chapters have shown that the context for transport in and around the county is changing dramatically and will continue to evolve throughout this Local Transport Plan and beyond. This chapter outlines our aims for this LTP in detail. The chapter begins with an analysis of the factors that have shaped our plan, and concludes with our LTP objectives. Beyond the policy and transport context described in the previous chapters, the other main influences on this Plan are:
- the experience gained from the first Local Transport Plan;
- the conclusions of our Strategic Environmental Assessment; and
- and local views on transport expressed through a variety of means.
There have also been changes in the opportunities to finance transport projects. Each of these is discussed below. Our transport objectives, which we develop at the end of this chapter, then provide the steer for where to direct transport resources.
