Be Safe - Be Seen

Be Safe Be Seen flyer.

If you are a pedestrian, travelling on two wheels, or even on a horse, help other road users to see you, wear white, light or bright coloured clothes.

In daytime you will be easier to see if you wear or carry something fluorescent. It could be a stripe on your jacket or your T-shirt or an extra, such as armbands or patches on your bag. A fluorescent vest or jacket is better still.

Fluorescent material really makes you stand out, but it will not work at night.

Some materials combine fluorescent and reflective elements, so they help you to be seen all round the clock.

Reflective material will not work in daylight, but at night its special surface reflects the light of car headlights straight back at the driver.

So remember

Fluorescent by day - reflective by night

But if you do not have anything fluorescent or reflective, at least wear something bright or light coloured.

Whatever you do, do not go out at night in dark clothing.
