Mighty Zulu Nation

The Mighty Zulu Nation is are returning to St Paul’s Church in Bedford for a concert of traditional dances, pulsating drumming and glorious vocal harmonies on Saturday 1 November 2008. Following a powerful performance last year at the Africa Weekend held by the Church, the cultural troupe will once again be delighting audiences with their energy and dynamic story-telling through song, dance and rhythmic percussion.

Mighty Zulu Nation at St Paul's ChurchOriginating from Durban in the Kingdom of KwaZulu Natal South the Mighty Zulu Nation has been touring the UK for more than nine years performing at theatres and festivals and delivering their cultural diversity awareness programme to schools the length and breadth of the country. They have played before the Queen in Westminster Abbey, and for their fellow countrymen Nelson Mandela and Bishop Desmond Tutu. During the half-term week preceding the concert at St Paul’s, the company will be based in Queens Park working with children to encourage them to rediscover their roots and African heritage. It is hoped that these children will be joining the performers on stage on the Saturday.

In order that the evening gets off to a great start, St Paul’s welcomes local gospel singer Mark Hudson with his singers and musicians who will open the concert and make sure that this All Saints Day comes marching in – with spirit and praise!
