School Sport Partnerships

SSPs are based in an upper school site with a number of families of schools based around the upper and middle schools. Each family is supported by a physical education teacher – a School Sport Coordinator – whose role it is to develop out of hours learning and school sport. Many of the initiatives forming part of the strategy are led by the partnerships. All schools in Bedfordshire are in one of the following six partnerships:

• Biddenham SSP based at Biddenham Upper School
• Chiltern SSP based at Northfields Upper School
• North Bedfordshire SSP based at Sharnbrook Upper School
• Leighton-Linslade SSP, based at Vandyke Upper School
• Redborne SSP based at Redborne Upper School
• Sandy SSP based at Sandy Upper School
