is the first point of call for anyone who wants to find out about the planning system in England and Wales.The Planning Portal provides comprehensive advice and guidance on Planning issues, in addition to a wide range of services. It is aimed at everyone, from central government and local authorities to planning professionals and the lay person.

The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG)
The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) was created on 5 May 2006 replacing the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM). It has a remit to promote community cohesion and equality. It is responsible for housing, urban regeneration, planning and local government.
