Climate change

Bedfordshire County Council is committed to tackling the threat of climate change and ensuring that action is taken to make sure that Bedfordshire is well prepared to face the consequences of climate change.   

We have put in place a  climate change strategy| (PDF document opens in new window) through which we will address the challenges to mitigate the affects of, and adapt to the impacts of climate change. 

An important part of the strategy is a comprehensive carbon footprint for the County Council.  This goes beyond what is normally included in a carbon footprint (energy use and travel) and also considers the indirect contribution to carbon dioxide emissions that are made through the goods and services that we procure.
