Minerals and waste policy and planning

As the Minerals and Waste Planning Authority, the County Council has a statutory duty to prepare and review a Minerals and Waste Development Framework. This will replace the adopted Minerals and Waste Local Plan 2005. The Framework will have regard to national, regional and local guidance and work is commencing now.

The County Council is responsible for Minerals and Waste Applications ( "County Matters"), and advice on the submission, processing and decisions made on such applications is available from the Minerals and Waste Team, Development Planning and Control Section at County Hall, Bedford.

The County Council has responsibility for enforcement in respect of Minerals and Waste matters. The County Council has an Enforcement Protocol which sets out the Authority's role in enforcement and the standards it intends to follow in this area of its work. Copies are available from the Development Planning and Control Section at County Hall or can be viewed using the link above.
