Our last Ofsted inspection praised the way we look after our NQTs so if you begin your career with us you can be sure of a good start!
We have 220 schools and operate a three tier system where pupils transfer at the ages of 9 and 13. Our schools serve a variety of rural and urban settings but all are committed to delivering a first class education to Bedfordshire's young people.

We have a thorough monitoring system that tracks your progress over your first year. This is supplemented by a core Induction programme that guarantees the support you need. We also have a comprehensive professional development programme offering enrichment opportunities as part of our recently launched on-line BedfordshireAcademy.
All teachers can access the Key Worker Housing |programme and in addition some schools offer incentives to NQTs such as early start.
Quality of life
Bedfordshire is centrally located, with fast road and rail links to most parts of the country, and London is less than an hour away. There are excellent facilities for shopping, culture and nightlife in Bedford and other nearby towns like Luton, Milton Keynes, Northampton and Cambridge. However, if you prefer the quiet life, Bedfordshire is also full of charming country villages and stunning scenery.
