Heads and deputies
School Improvement Advisers, Headteacher Consultants and School Improvement Partners work together with Consultants from the Primary and Secondary Strategies identifying areas within schools where support is required to heads and senior leadership teams to improve the quality of learning and teaching.
The subsequent provision includes locally and County based training and consultancy on a range of leadership and management issues, such as school improvement, best value, using performance data, finance and personnel, school self evaluation and review, coaching and mentoring and opportunities to develop both individually and as a team.
Opportunities are offered through 'Collaborative Leadership Learning' groups to work with groups of local headteachers and deputies, setting a learning agenda which is facilitated by Local Authority staff. Details of this provision can be found either in the County Training Directory or through the Learning Community CPD Co-ordinators.
