School - home schooling FAQs

If I decide to withdraw my child from school or otherwise decide on home-education if my child has never been to school, what must I do ?

If your child has been at school you need to write to the school to request your child be deregistered.
If your child has never been to school it is helpful to inform the LEA of your decision so that advice on your provision may be given if you wish and the LEA can carry out its duty to insure that an appropriate educational provision is taking place.
