Marketing support

Do you have any vacancies you need to fill but have very little money to advertise?

How well do you know your existing customers needs and wants?

Why do your customers choose you in the first place?

Do you know who else provides childcare in your area?

Before undertaking any marketing you will need to decide what message you would like to send out about your provision. You also need to decide what your 'unique selling point' is; what makes your setting stand out amongst the rest. Your 'unique selling point' should play a significant role in your marketing efforts and the structure of your marketing plan.

All promotional activities should be part of your overall marketing plan and should not be carried out on an ad hoc basis. The advantages of having an advertising and promotional schedule and knowing the costs involved, is that it allows you to budget for the amount in advance. Your marketing plan should contain your advertising and promotions schedule for throughout the financial year. These activities should be timed to coincide with the period before you need to fill vacancies.

It is also essential that you keep a record of where your business is coming form. This will tell you how effective your marketing activities have been and whether you are spending your time and money wisely. The key to success is understanding and meeting the needs of your customers and regularly updating this information. This ensures you keep in tune with changing needs and market trends.
