Services provided by Children's Centres

The services offered through Children’s Centres will vary from Centre to Centre depending partly on the wards included in the individual Children’s Centre reach and the needs of the community and will rely on community involvement for sustainability. The Centres will provide an opportunity to drive forward preventative health and lay down good foundations for education.

In Bedfordshire there will be three levels of service delivery through Children’s Centres:

Flexible Offer Plus
Flexible Offer

Full Offer includes:

• Integrated childcare and early learning
• Child and family health services including ante-natal
• Outreach and family support services
• Links with Jobcentre Plus for training and employment advice
• Childminders network
• Support for children with additional needs and parents.

Flexible Offer Plus includes:

• Information and advice about early years and childcare
• Child and family health services including ante-natal
• Outreach and family support services
• Access to training and employment advice
• Links to local childminders
• Signposting to support services for children with additional needs and parents.

Flexible offer includes:

Information and advice for parents about:

• early years and childcare provision
• child and family health
• training and employment opportunities.
• Provision of groups / drop-ins for families
• services for children with additional needs and parents.
