Older People Festival comes to Bedford

The popular 'Festival for Older People', organised by Bedfordshire County Council, will be coming to Bedford Corn Exchange on Wednesday 2 July 2008 from 10am till 3.30pm.
The event is also supported by Bedford Borough Council, The Bedford Guild House and Age Concern. It will be opened by Bedfordshire County Council’s Cabinet member for Community Services, Cllr Bob King.
The event is free and open to all, not just older people. Representatives from organisations will be there throughout the day and people will have an opportunity to find out more on issues such as health and welfare benefits, leisure activities and council services. Organisations that will be there include Sight Concern, The Local Pension Service, the Bedfordshire Advocacy Alliance and many more.
There will be activities going on all day including music, dancing and prize Free refreshments will also be provided by Age Concern.
Councillor Bob King, Bedfordshire County Council Cabinet Member for Community Services, said: "We are thrilled to be providing this event for Bedfordshire residents. It gets more and more popular every year.
“There will be lots of useful information available on the day, as well as some fantastic and fun events. We hope to see everyone there!”
