Budgets and spending

Bedfordshire County Council has a revenue budget and a capital programme which fund the services we provide. These include:

• Education and Libraries
• Social Services
• Roads and Transport
• Trading Standards
• Waste Disposal

The money we spend comes from government grants, business rates, council tax and charges for services.

The Finance Directorate provides a wide range of financial services to the County Council. Payroll services are provided by our partner, SERCO.
