How to find County Hall

Public Transport

Bedford is easy to reach just 50 miles north of London.

It is situated on the main inter-city St Pancras railway line and is well served by fast and frequent Thameslink services from London's Kings Cross, South London destinations and London-Luton airport via Luton Parkway. Midland Mainline services provide links from London's St Pancras, the East Midlands and Yorkshire.

Trains from Bedford St Johns station to Bletchley offer connections to Milton Keynes and services between Birmingham New Street and London Euston.

County Hall is approximately 10 minutes from Midland Rd station or less than 2 minutes from Bedford St. Johns.

Bedford bus station is approximately 5 minutes from County Hall while bus stops located conveniently outside County Hall are served by buses from both the Kempston and Ampthill directions. Bus stops slightly further along Cauldwell Street and in St. Johns Street are served by buses from the London Road and Cardington Road directions. Services to the town centre and north Bedford are also accessible from these locations.

Road Travel

Bedford is accessible by road from both the M1 at junctions 13 and 14 or from the A1 at Sandy or Roxton. Alternatively take the A428 from Northampton or the A6 from Rushden, from the south take the A6 from Luton.

Park and Ride Park and Ride|

Bedford's Park and Ride is situated at the junction of the A6 and the A421. A frequent service operates between the Park and Ride and County Hall (at least every 15 minutes) between the hours of 07.00 and 19.00. For further information please visit the Park and Ride website| (new window)
