'Distance Users' are people who contact us by e-mail and letter. This survey was organised by the Public Service Quality Group (PSWG). Here are some selected results for Bedfordshire & Luton Archives:

• 70% of people relied on our own or other websites to learn about our enquiry service - more than any other of the 5 repositories in the pilot survey.

Question 4: What are your MAIN reasons for using e-mail or letter to contact this archive rather than making a personal visit?

• Living too far away to visit is by far the most important reason for resorting to e-mail or letter.

Question 5: How good do you think the following aspects of the enquiry service are at this archive?

• We were rated better on quality, clarity, promptness of response and value for money than anyone else in the sample (range of 90.3 to 94.7% rated very good)
