Every piece of land and building was valued and the valuer noted of the Post Office [DV1/C/5]: 13: Hitchin Road Post Office and Grocer: Owner Emma Elizabeth Milton, occupier H.Milton; brick and slate "good and modern (1912)"; reception room; living room; scullery and pantry; three bedrooms; + bay window; outside wc; water laid on to house; small garden; outside pantiled dairy; pony stable and cart shed; pantiled coal shed and store shed; internal measurements of shop 11ft 9 ins wide by 14ft 3in deep
