Other Licensed Premises

Fox & Fowler

The reference given below is the only one in Bedfordshire & Luton Archives & Records Service to this establishment which was probably a beerhouse, that is only licensed to sell beer and cider, not wines or spirits. It is not noted in the 1822-1828 licensing records held at the office, suggesting it was a new business in 1829, unless it was the Horseshoes which simply changed name.

Horseshoes

This establishment is known only from one mention in licensing records for 1828 – it is just possible that it became the Fox & Fowler.
