Milton Bryan Windmill
Unusually, no mills are recorded in the parish by the Domesday Book|. Equally unusually no mills are recorded later in the history of the parish except for mentions by implication in the names of fields. The first of these mentions comes in 1635 with an estate map of the Staunton family holdings in Milton Bryan and Eversholt [T46/1]. Windmill Piece is shown somewhere in the vicinity of the modern Grange Farm (it is difficult to be precise due to the primitive cartography). Later mentions are as follows: The Mill Field and Windmill Field in 1708 [ABE2 folio 416]; Mill Field in 1727 [BH329]; and Mill Piece in the inclosure award of 1794 [A70 page 295].
